Hi, I have a 1977 3 wheel gas cart, and I was wondering what I need to do to fix it. I have got it running, but now it goes full speed reverse, but slow in forward. I would like as much as you guys can tell me as possible.

Some times all that means is that your points need to be adjusted. Make sure you have the proper gap which is .022" also make sure you have the proper points. If you use automotive points you will wear out your cam lobe. If your cam lobe is worn out you will have the same problem ( work good in only 1 direction. Another good thing to check is you compression. The compression should be approx. 80 psi in FORWARD and 85 psi in REVERSE. Good luck

Correction on that compression....
Should be 100 lb or more in forward & reverse (even though there will be a difference between them). Less than 100 lb compression will run but not real well. We call that "on borrowed time".
