EZgo clutch removal

Postby stakoi » Sun Jun 01, 2008 9:11 pm

Hi, I have to fix a 1989 EZgo engine. It's a Robin, Model ec25-3pg
Disp: 244cc
Motor No. 89-07125

I would like to install the big overhaul kit in it , crank, piston, ect.
The problem that I am having is how to remove the the clutch and gen, starter pully.from the engine's crankshaft .
Do I need a special puller or is there another
tric to it. I would be extremely thankfull if anyone could help me out .
I have been a mechanic for 40 years but this is the firs golf cart that I have ever worked on.

It requires a puller. Contact your local authorized E-Z-GO dealer, and they may pull it for you for free or for a very small fee.

Letting them do it is a form of insurace.... after all, if they screw up then they get to fix your crankshaft

I'm trying to get the clutch off my st350, but the frame seems to be in the way to get the bolt out or the puller in. Do I need to drop the engine (if so whats the best way), or is there some trick to it?

Have someone stand on either the passenger's side, or driver's side. Then it should clear the frame rail.

If I remember right, the passenger's side works better for the ST's.
Feel free to contact me for more info....
