2003 EzGo SHould both rear wheels turn?

Postby 79eagle » Sat Jun 16, 2007 10:52 pm

When we run the cart into the trailer, it appears that only the passenger side wheel is trying to pull the cart up the ramp. Is this normal?

So, to check I can raise the rear of the cart and run it, forward and reverse. If both wheels do turn, but I am able to stop one of them, like the left rear, what is my cure for this problem?

the only way to make both wheels have power is to weld the gears (not sure which ones) or get the BU traction control kit. $199,

Ok, then. My cart is "normal" with only one wheel driving the cart. I am thinking seriously about the kit. I am wondering if I should cure the whine in the rear end first.

Thanks for the link.

There is no whine with the wheels elevated.

I discovered that I need to adjust the brakes.

Both tires on the rear have flat spots.
Moved one of them to the front.

The rear end works like a standard differential, so both wheelsturn, unless one starts to spin.

glad you found the whine  im not exactly sure how good the traction control kit works, you might want to give BU a call and tell them what you will be doing with the cart

Last year I got my cart stuck going up a wet incline at the campground. I installed the traction control device and the difference is incredible. Getting stuck now would require the full bottoming out of the cart. The torque and power moving forward allows you to go almost anywhere, in the wettest of conditions.

I was thinking about this just today.

I did not notice the whine with the wheels elevated. So, that would lead me to think that the whine would be in a wheel bearing as opposed to the read-end.

I will try the wheels elevated again and pay more attention.

I have to admit, that I was concentrating more on the tire flat spotting than the whine.
