EZGO Rear Axle

EZGO Rear Axle

Postby spectre087 » Thu Jan 04, 2007 9:03 pm

I have a 1991 ezgo Marathon. I'm trying to determine if there is any lubrication point for the rear axle. I have looked for zirk fittings and other potential lube points but have found none. Any and all help and suggestions is greatly appreciated.

Rear axle

No grease fitting for the rear, however you can drain the rear end doping out and put fresh in. This is done at the center of the gear housing on passenger side there is a nut that you take out to drain. If it has the vent tube coming out the top I take it loose to fill, leave drain plug out and start filling when it starts running out of the drain close it up, if it doesn't have the vent you have to fill it back up through the drain/ fill plug. It's a pain to do but you only need a couple of oz. in it. I use a small peice of tubing to fill it with to sqeeze into the housing.

Andy...............Thanks much. I'll give it a shot. Hopefully it will help to eliminate somewhat of a slight rumble coming from the rear end.

you are talking about the vent plug.
does it hurt if the little cap ontop of the vent plug is missing?
Thanks YC
