Load Testing Batteries

Load Testing Batteries

Postby LesStallings » Fri Sep 09, 2011 8:13 pm

I just found out that my electronic battery tester won't load test 8 Volt batteries. I've always used it before on 6 volt and 12 volt batteries without any problems.

Is there a recommended battery tester for 8 volt batteries??

Thanks,

you dont really need one, a digital volt meter is all you really need

I got by for years without a battery load tester, but once I got one, I found it very helpful. Now I'm spoiled :)

I've been using 6 volt cart batteries in RVs for a long time and using an electronic (not carbon pile) battery load tester really helps identify problematic batteries.

So, can anyone recommend an 8 volt battery tester?

Thanks again,

there isn,t a true 8 volt tester out there however they claim you can use a 12 volt load tester you just have to cipher the readings........and i agree a digital voltage meter is best for a true reading............................

just tape your leads to proper battery post and press pedal.......watch where meter drops to and where and how long to recover.........you can also check the whole pack this way...........................
