How far should it go?

Postby pub2pub » Mon Apr 13, 2009 2:22 pm

Just wondering guys. How far should your golf cart go on a full charge? I just got a 2001 Club Car 48 volt and i'm just trying to gauge how far in distance or how long in time the average cart should go.

Charge it up and get out on the street and run it floored until its in need of a charge? That would be about 100 minutes of run time.

Take it out, stop and go, few hills and you could go 60 miles on a singel charge with new batteries.

Thanks for the reply. that was my plan to charge it full then run it all over (Good thing in Miami we got no hills)... I just wanted a ballpark on how long and far it should go... 60 miles seems pretty far, we shall see. Thanx again

Doesn't the cart draw less voltage at full throttle? Therefore 110min = 1.83hrs x mph presuming a basically stock cart putting it at app 27 mi

Yeah i was figuring a charged cart would go somewhere between 20 -25 miles on a charge.

I have run mine over 50 miles on a fresh charge. Do it all the time. There are some of my friends we jump on the carts a go. Pisses the gaser guy's off too, they don't know what to think when after 50 miles the electrics are still running.

Columbia Par Car did a test a number of years ago. The statement I made is from that test. The Club Car did 60 miles in the test.

The columbia, with the 8 6volt set up did 115 miles, but no body really cared.....it was a Par Car.
